Since bad weather was predicted for the day, I opted for an easy walk around Emerald Lake instead of a remote backcountry hike. It was raining as I left the car. I didn't expect much. As I walked around lake, the stormy weather paused, the wind calmed and the sun broke through, but just for a moment.
